Creative Spark Residency
July & August 2023 Throughout this residency at Creative Spark, Dundalk, I was researching historical, folkloric and contemporary attitudes towards death in Ireland. I produced a series of 3 prints using linocut, monotype and polyester plate lithography, informed by my research, and a body of 60 drawings of patterns observed throughout the two months. This residency was generously supported by Essdee. 'Forgetting, a moment, my place on the menu' - 38 x 56cm. Edition of 7 'Who will say 'body' to his opaque repose' - 38 x 56cm. Edition of 8 'The river can't drown me, I'm done with my dying' - 38 x 56cm V.Edition of 5 These prints were exhibited at 'IMBAS' a retrospective of the Creative Spark artist residence program '22-'23, at An Tain gallery, Dundalk, October '23. 'Forgetting..' was exhibited at Mid Wales Art Centre, May 2024. |
