Once We Were Fish This series of etched linocuts developed from research into beliefs and folklore surrounding afterlife, and the conflicting ideas of evolution. Using fish, a significantly recurring theme from my research, I created an imagined narrative of an underwater afterlife where we return to a fish form that we originally evolved from. 'Once We Were Fish I' was selected for the 'Contemporary Young Artist Award' at The Biscuit Factory, Newcastle in 2020, and the 'RBSA Print Prize' at the RBSA Gallery, Birmingham, in 2022. This series was exhibited at 'Press+Play' at Phoenix Art Space, Brighton, in 2021. Once We Were Fish II. 30 x 42 cm. 2020 Once We Were Fish I. 32 x 45 cm. 2019 Of The River. 14 x 25 cm. 2020 |
